Snowboarding in Courchevel is excellent, it is widely known that the entire Trois Vallees range (including Courchevel) has some of the best snowboarding available. We are proud to be the only snowboard equipment providers and snowboard instructors in Courchevel.
Courchevel prides itself on the excellent well-maintained pistes; for beginners and intermediates there are simply no better pistes on offer. 100% of green and blue runs are groomed every single night, with approximately 88% of reds getting the same treatment.
From modern, fast and very efficient lifts through to a free and frequent bus service linking the villages of Courchevel (1850), Moriond (1650), Village (1550), Le Praz together; the pistes are well laid out and getting around is super easy.
The main runs in Courchevel are Verdons, Chenus, Saulire and Biollay plus the runs down to La Tania. You can easily spend an entire week circling these runs. They offer wide, varied terrain with loads of lumps and bumps to jump off and jib. The trees down to La Tania are awesome when there is powder on the ground….and don’t forget about Fun Park under the Verdons lift. These are only a few of the runs in Courchevel, there are loads more, but these should definitely be on your list.
You can also make your way over to Courchevel Moriond (1650). This area is great, normally a lot quieter than the 1850 side and it gets the sun all day long in March. The main runs here leave the top of the Signal chair. The runs are wide and vary in gradient but never get too steep making this area great for beginners looking to progress after their lessons have ended. A great run is from the top of the Signal chair all the way down to town.
The beauty of Courchevel is that it is so easy to explore the whole of the Three Valleys, starting with Meribel and its excellent parks Moon & DC Area 43, then its St Martin, Les Menuires & Val Thorens, and even further afield the 4th valley of Orelle.
There are a number of fun snowboard parks which are areas dedicated to discovering freestyle and other ways of enjoying the white stuff; here we explore the best snowboard parks in the Three Valleys…
All across the Courchevel Valley and the Three Valleys as a whole, there are a number of fun snowboard parks which are areas dedicated to discovering freestyle and other ways of enjoying the white stuff!
The Family Park above Courchevel (as its name suggests) is great fun for all and is a fun and easy natural canon to be unreservedly enjoyed by the whole family. There is a variety of jumps, rails, tables and obstacles (including an airbag jump at certain times), as well as a boardercross. The Snake Park above Moriond is a fun and easily-accessible boardercross, whilst the Fun Park has large bumps and The Wood Park above Village (1550) has wooden rails and tables.
Moon Park in Meribel features plenty of boxes, hips and small to medium jumps. DC Area 43 is a huge playground with a full size halfpipe, mini pipe, small to extra-large jumps, boxes rails. Moonpark image credit here
Val Thorens has a snowboard park which is open from early to late season and is packed with features for snowboarders of all levels to enjoy.
Off-piste snowboarding in Courchevel is among some of the best in the world.
Courchevel has a wealth of opportunities to delight the off-piste snowboarder. In the surrounding area there are several great faces and couloirs, whilst further afield the area of Vallee Des Avals offers exceptional opportunities.
We recommend that with all off-piste adventures, especially those that are not close to the pisted areas, that you have a mountain guide, adequate experience and the appropriate safety equipment.
Make sure you check out avalanche safety first, and it is also necessary to have a Three Valleys pass as you never know which town you will end up in after a day in the powder! As long as you are safe and responsible, some of the best off-piste snowboarding in the whole world awaits here in Courchevel!
