LES ARCS
We have chosen Les Arcs because of its massive amounts of varied
terrain. Whitelines snowboard magazine ranked Les Arcs as one
of the best overall resorts in the world; New link with La Plagne
(200 person double decker gondola spans the valley!) is now open
creating one of the largest areas in the world with over 400km
of piste and unlimited possibilities off piste, new combined area
is called Paradiski.
Les Arcs history is steeped in snowboarding heritage. about to
snowboarding legend and forefather Regis Rolland. Truly a snowboard
friendly resort. Pick up a snowboard video with European coverage
and no doubt there will be footage from Les Arcs.
Les Arcs has so much to offer: high altitude snow guaranteed pistes,
tree runs, hidden villages, kicker building terrain, gully’s,
powder fields, gentle beginner slopes and plenty more.
Quotes from World Snowboard Guide:
Les Arcs has it all from mellow beginner slopes to some of
the most challenging runs anywhere in France, with hardly any
moguls. You can be guaranteed an amazing day through trees in
Peisey or above 1600, off cornices or just straight lining everything.
A great freeriders resort with lots of off-piste and powder, plus
natural hits to explore.
Overall rating 9 out of 10
Pleisure Chalet
PH1 is in Peisey an authentic mountain village, with direct access
into Les Arcs area and only minutes from gondola to La Plagne.
The runs above Peisey meander through the forest back to the villages
and have good snow cover throughout season, the place to head
on powder days or during poor visibility. With good beginner areas,
tree runs and superb terrain of natural kickers there is plenty
for everyone. For the more adventurous there is unlimited off
piste to be found. Looking out from chalet on La Plagne side is
the north face of the Bellecote glacier offering a superb off
piste route back to the villages, will become a classic with the
opening of the new link. Peisey has a number of bars, restaurants,
supermarket and newsagents/tabac.
